#385 Stress or Pressure? Which one do you need?

In Episodes #203 & #348 we talked about the need for stress in your Life...but what about pressure? Often we think of pressure as being the same as stress-not quite, but pressure too has its benefits...if applied right. You control this show!! #384 The Limo is rented

During an interview, Sam Jones complemented actor Jeff Daniel's pragmatism and professionalism. Daniels said his approach came from some wise advice he received many years ago, "The Limo you're sitting in today is rented and someone will be sitting in this same limo tomorrow-so be grateful for what you have today." Today's episode is a quick reminder that no matter how good or how tough your day may be...remember the limo is rented. You control this show!! Support & promote the show by leaving ...

#383 Do you want to see her?

In 1955 Robert Stine wanted to photograph the non-Hollywood version of Marilyn Monroe so they tamed Norma Jean's curls, put on an overcoat and no one seemed to notice as she road the NY City subway. When they returned to the station and walked back up to the streets of NY, Norma Jean turned to the photographers and said, "Do you want to see her?"....& what they saw made them speechless. Today's episode draws Todd Herman's book "The Alter Ego Effect," & speaks to the power of your Alter Ego. We...

#382 Create your own struggle

When Joe Rogan was asked how he dealt with the shadows that still linger in his life, Rogan answered that he creates his struggle through rigorous workouts, MMA training, performing in comedy clubs, running multiple businesses, and creating one of the world's top rated podcast. Humans are wired for conflict and if we do not purposefully build conflict into our lives, conflict will find its way into our lives through toxic relationships, drugs and alcohol, maxed out credit cards, poor performance...

Best of: Can you write your own symphony?

Charlie Munger wrote, “The man who can play all instruments can write his own symphony, but the man who can play one instrument is limited to just playing his part.” Munger’s symphony is “investing” & his instruments are the businesses he’s developed a deep understanding for. That’s what’s earned him billionaire status.~ If your success has wained, it’s probably because you’re playing too few of instruments. Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/marshbuice/message

As you’re walking into the convenience store, a guy on the outside corner of the building starts easing his way toward you and calls out, “Excuse me, but do you have any change on you?” He’s asking you because you don’t look & act like him....but he’s not the only one. ⭐️Thanks got catching today’s show.⭐️Please share this episode with who could use it & help grow the show by leaving a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating & review. 💪 Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/marshbuice/message

#378 Which are you? The carrot, egg, or coffee bean?

When you come across a chapter titled, "Adversity," you know I'm in! When it comes from the pen of John Maxwell, I'm definitely in! The story, told in Maxwell's book, "Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn," is of a young woman complaining to her dad about how unfair and difficult her life is. She goes on and on about how difficult it is for her to make in her cruel world. Without saying a word her dad walks over to the stove and boils 3 pots of water. His answer to her were in those pots. ~ TH...

#377 ”Do your time...don’t let time do you.”

I’m reading “The Change Agent” by Damon West. It’s a true story of redemption going from QB to a drug addict, sentenced to life in prison who is a free man today. While serving a life sentence, Damon West made the decision to get clean & real with himself and do the inner work of improving a little bit each day. His body may be imprisoned, but his mind was not. He lived his mantra, “Do your time, but don’t let time do you.” ⭐️You may be facing some sentences in your life & even though they may b...

#376 You were winning the whole time

Tommy Baker gave a speech titled, “The Journey Is The Win,” in which he said that even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty you’re going to one day look back on those days as hellish as they may be, you’ll miss them. You may not miss the moments, but you’ll miss the meaning. ⭐️ Today’s episode closes a chapter in my life where I’ve been in the grips of financial and physical loss...& in a strange way I’ll miss it. Best of: What you miss becomes your momentum.

With nearly 400 episodes in the can, it’s easy to forget something that we talked about 300 episodes ago. This episode was Episode #112 & I think it’s worth replaying bc when we miss...when we fail, fall, or miss out, we normally beat ourselves up with either “I should’ve jumped on the opportunity,” or “I bombed this one.” But keep in mind the results will vary...but the feedback is constant. Keep making the adjustments and what you “miss” is just a part of your Momentum Train 🚂 Send in a voice...

#375 It’s better to become over time than overnight.

In the book, “The 1% Rule” Tommy Baker writes that you should not be fooled when you see someone who is labeled as an “overnight” success bc what you don’t see are all of the rejections, disses, boos, arguments, & desperate moments it took to get there. The times they played to a crowd of 3; had to sleep 7 in a sleazy motel room; the times they were cheated & wanted to quit. They weren’t a success overnight...they became a success over time. 💪Today’s podcast is a wink, kick, and a push for you t...

#373 Stop Apologizing

Today's episode is inspired by a chapter in comedian Chris Gethard's b ook (not sure if that's a stage name or not :), "Lose Well." He writes, "When we decide we want to shift the standard of our life to include something new and out of the box, we tend to spend a lot of time apologizing for it and justifying it..." No lies in that statement, right? We throw a lofty dream that is waaayy out there in front of others and they look at who you are or who you've been and they squash your "gonna be's....

#372 There’s Faith & then there’s “Unwavering” Faith

So we know the definition of faith is “the substance of things hoped for & the evidence of things not yet seen.” In Sales..& in Life we must have faith, but sometimes when adversity leans in too much, we lose our faith & end up settling thinking it just wasn’t our time. Recently my faith was being tested & my faith wasn’t enough. That was the day I heard Hal Elrod speak of “Unwavering” Faith on his podcast. I had to share it w/ you bc it was the lifeline I needed & will use from now on & it work...

#371 Distance yourself from the moment not the feeling.

On the same day the world’s financial system literally caved in, Ryan Serhant began his real estate career...great timing, huh? Ryan’s life was already on the skids, so he decided to try his hand in sales. At the end of his first day, he walks into a corner store to buy some yogurt, hands the cashier his credit card & it’s declined....Ryan was so broke he couldn’t even buy yogurt. That moment became the breaking open point for him. Sobbing on the train he decided at that point to work his ass of...

#370 From dilettante to virtuoso

Teddy Roosevelt is one of my favorite presidents bc not only was he an underdog, but a badass overall. (He once got shot on the way to give a speech & he damn sure didn’t miss giving it!) Roosevelt grew up frail & suffered from terrible asthma attacks. To combat this, his father told him that he must “make his own body” & Teddy did just that. Roosevelt grew up privileged- whatever he needed he got, but he didn’t let his privilege interfere w/ his purpose. “If I intended to do the very best work ...

#365 How to generate clarity in your Life

Clarity isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something you generate by knowing “Who am I?” “What are my values?” “What are my strengths & weaknesses?” “What’s my plans & goals?” The questions are simple, but the answers are difficult because we’re too busy trying to get through a day much less build a Life. Today smashes all that. We take, High Performance Habit #1, from Brendon Burchard’s book, “High Performance Habits. How extraordinary people become that way.” Burchard gives us 4 principles...

#364 Experience is NOT the best teacher

We’ve all heard & nod in agreement that “Experience is the best teacher,” but if that were the case then why aren’t we all doing well...why aren’t we all successful since we’ve all had experiences?
