Punch At What Bugs You

Punch At What Bugs You

Today, I want to challenge you to confront something that bugs you. Not something that aggravates you – that's a different story.

If unchecked, aggravation can lead to emotional outbursts and destructive behavior. Instead, focus on those minor irritations that make your skin itch or give you a nervous tick. These are often the things that bug others but are commonly overlooked.

In our busy lives, we often adjust our behavior rather than address these annoyances. However, ignoring them can lead us personally and professionally off course.

This concept is similar to the "1:60 rule" used in aviation, where being just one degree off course over 60 nautical miles leads to being a mile off target. This principle also applies to life – small deviations, left unaddressed, can significantly impact our trajectory.

So, what bugs you? Identify it and take action. Dealing with these irritations offers several benefits:

  1. Low Consequence: These issues are often so minor that no one will stand in your way, making them easier to tackle.
  2. Flexibility: Because they are not yet catastrophic, you can address them at your own pace, whether it's five minutes or fifty.
  3. Skill Development: Persistently addressing what bugs you improves patience, hones your skills, and increases your know-how.
  4. Specialization: By tackling these issues, you become the go-to expert, sought after within and beyond your organization or social circle.
  5. Opportunity Creation: Sometimes, addressing a minor annoyance can lead to significant, life-changing opportunities.

Remember, it's the small things that often make the biggest difference. Keep it simple, keep moving, never settle, stay tough. Let's go!
