The advantages of being unnoticed

Yes being unnoticed has its advantages...

You desperately want to write a best seller...be an iTunes “New & Noteworthy” podcast...

...you want that online platform, blog, YouTube channel, or swag merch business to take off, but right now you’re “unnoticed.”

Right now your current social rank is advantageous, here’s why:

1. Being unnoticed tests your commitment by making you choose yourself. Most quit when they realize few (if any) are showing up with you. Will you continue to show up NMW (No Matter What)?
2. Being unnoticed gives you a chance to get better. I know you think your results are the shiz but they are not. My old episodes & videos suck. At the time I thought they were good, but today they’re embarrassing. The evolution for me continues-today’s episodes will also suck in comparison to the ones in the future. As hip hop legend Rakim writes, “Always be better than yourself.”
3. If you were noticed you’d crash. Those at the top of their game are severally scrutinized & dissed. Sure they have followers who adore them, but they also have haters who will stop at nothing to troll them. You’re so fragile in your beginning days that although you wish you’d blow the charts, you wouldn’t be able to handle the criticism.
4. Being unnoticed gives you grace to find your rhythm. 1000 days later will you still be showing up as consistently as you did on Day 1? You may start off creating every day or week, but realize that you can’t shelf every day life in the process. Being unnoticed gives you the flexibility to adjust along the way.

Leverage your obscurity now to become “overnight success” later.
