Perfect Practice To Be Adaptable Later

One of my young managers came into my office to vent. Oftentimes, when you're in the skids, you tend to personalize it and think it'll last forever.

Hearing him made me think back to Brian Levenson's book "Shift Your Mind," where he told a story of a time when NBA & Hall Of Famer Kobe Bryant was having an off night. Going into the locker room one of his teammates tried to offer words of encouragement. Unphased, Kobe answered, "I worked too hard for the ball not to go in." (The second half he tore the other team apart.)

When it's not working for you at the moment, can you say, "I worked too hard for it not to work?" If so, adjust. If not, start practicing.

Thank you for watching.
