The comment was towards the end of the podcast and I almost turned it off.

Who’s in your camp? Who do you chop it up with most? “Is it easy to be like them?” If you were like them would you be giving up or reaching up?
What do they talk about? Are they always talking about the same self-inflicted problems? ..or do they have productive problems-trying to figure out which investment to make.
I get that you’ve been friends since middle school, but, like you, do they have some place higher to be?
Higher level people want to help you. Eye level people want to keep you right where you are because if you moved higher you’d lose your commonality & become a threat. They may even sabotage you.
“You’re not the same person you once were,” is the greatest compliment someone can give you.
“We’ve been friends for years,” is good. “We’ll be friends in years,” is empowering. Run toward & associate w/ people you want to be like 5-10 yrs from now.
Worthy investments happen over time not overnight. You’ve got to earn their time by showing your worth.
