Don’t bring your “A” game, bring your “P” Game

If you haven’t read Gary Keller’s “The One Thing” you should grab a copy. Even if you’re a slow reader it won’t take you long.

Keller asks his students, “Are you showing up today to do the best that you can or to be the best ever?”

The answer is both...

Most people wake up w/ an “E” mindset- what Keller calls an “Entrepreneurial” mindset. Initially you wake up w/ excitement to do well but eventually slide into “good enough.” You live up to your obligations instead of your opportunities.

An “E” mindset is doing things that feel comfortable and are within the scope of your normal capabilities, but eventually you hit a Ceiling of Achievement. Here you grow complacent, become frustrated, & move on to find “greener” grass.

The problem with your move is you’re moving with an “E” mindset so you’re forever Start, Stop, & Moving.

“If you want different results, it’s going to require different actions.”

Bring your “P” game. Your “P” (Purposeful) game is always purposefully upping the ante. Where most stay in “good enough” zone you’re purposefully adding more to seize your opportunities.

This is the youngest you’ll ever be so go get it!

Bringing your “P” game means you ask, “What are my options?”

“E” game is fill in the blank...one lens, one perspective, so one answer...

But the “E?” It’s multiple choice-you see the walls and obstacles but you ask & find OPTIONS.

Cultivating your “E” game means that you’re going to have to develop new Skills, Thinking, & Relationships

Working out, boosting your sales, or even that promotion you want...don’t bring your “A” game bring your “E” game.

🔥Thanks Gary for the insight.
