571. Get to your point. | Persevering when it seems impossible.

I'm reading Robert O'Neill's book "The Operator. Firing The Shots That Killed Osama Bin Laden."

While training to become a Navy Seal, one of his instructors told O'Neill's class, "I'm never gonna ask that you do anything impossible, but I will make you do something hard, followed by something very hard, followed by something very hard, day after day for 8 straight months. And that seems like a lot to get from now to 8 months from now but don't think about it that way. That's not how you achieve any long-term goal. Get up in the morning, make your bead, & brush your teeth. Little victories. Get to 5 A.M. PT. From PT get to breakfast. From breakfast try to make it to lunch. From lunch make it to dinner. After dinner get back into that bed that you made and tomorrow do the same thing all over again. All you need to do to get from now to 8 months from now & graduate is to not do one thing. No matter what, never quit & you'll be just fine."

If it seems too hard or too long for you right now, THIS one you've gotta listen to.
