#470 Some days I don't need encouragement...I need a command

Sports psychologist Michael Gervais (he's got a really good podcast called "Finding Mastery") embarked on a 30 mile paddle board competition, but on mile 21 he was disoriented and found himself on his knees. The boat trailing him couldn't help him-otherwise he'd be disqualified, but the boat captain walked to the edge of the boat and yelled out, "GET UP!" "ONE PADDLE!"

That was it...

Sometimes when we find ourselves on our knees in life, that's all we need. We don't need encouragement...we need a command. One syllable leadership.

"Come on you can do it," is bs on those days.

"How bad do you want it?" Apparently not bad enough because I want to quit.

These are the days that you need to slap yourself or someone else back into reality with a command. Today's not the day to tell you what the future looks like...today is the day for me to tell you what to do next.

Period.

"GET UP!" "MOVE!" "ONE STEP!' "NEXT CUSTOMER!"

No fluff...no explanations...just do.

When you courage is empty, doubts are full, and the feeling of wanting to just give up are redlining.

Commands finish the race.

Never settle, keep selling no matter what.
